The exciting refurbishment of four gyms has been completed, allowing local communities to enjoy a new era for fitness in West Northamptonshire.
Fitness suites at Lings Forum Leisure Centre, Danes Camp Leisure Centre, Daventry Leisure Centre and Moulton Leisure Centre – run by award-winning operator Everyone Active in partnership with West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) – have received substantial upgrades.
Lings Forum Leisure Centre’s gym has more than doubled in size to 120 stations and includes a raft of top-of-the-range machinery, while the fitness suite at Danes Camp Leisure Centre has been extended to 80 stations. Both sites also feature premium recovery technology in the form of hydro massage beds.
Daventry Leisure Centre and Moulton Leisure Centre – which also boast new hydro massage beds – now have fully modernised gym environments and feature state-of-the-art cardio and resistance equipment to support people of all abilities and interests.
The new leisure contract, which began in April, unlocked a comprehensive programme of modernisation and refurbishment, creating high-quality, accessible and welcoming spaces that support healthier, more active lifestyles.
The investment forms a key part of WNC’s long-term commitment to boosting health and wellbeing, increasing participation in physical activity and ensuring leisure facilities continue to meet local need.
Simon Fearn, Everyone Active’s regional contract manager, said: “The completion of these gym upgrades is fantastic news for local communities and we have had a brilliant reaction from our members so far.
“These gyms provide the perfect platform for people to improve their health and wellbeing, no matter what their age, ability or fitness goals. We would encourage anyone interested in getting active to come down, speak to our friendly colleagues and make use of the amazing facilities on their doorstep.”
Cllr Kamala Guliyeva, WNC’s Cabinet Member for Economy, Culture and Leisure, said: “Investing in high-quality leisure facilities is a key part of our commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of residents across West Northamptonshire. These improvements have created modern, state-of-the-art gym environments that will benefit local communities for years to come.
“We want people to have access to the best possible facilities close to where they live, whether they are taking their first steps towards a more active lifestyle or pursuing long-term fitness goals. These upgrades demonstrate our ambition to provide leisure services that are fit for the future and meet the needs of residents across the area.”
