Upper Teme Business Park brings hope to Tenbury Wells

A new state-of-the-art development, Upper Teme Business Park, with 23 commercial units has been unveiled in Tenbury Wells.

Following the news that Kerry Manufacturing – the largest employer in Tenbury Wells for the past 50 years – is set to close in February 2026, this announcement has come at a crucial time.

With the threat of the local community experiencing job insecurities and economic impacts from this loss, the business park opening brings hopes of economic growth, innovation and employment in the area.

Amy Butterfield, Upper Teme Business Park Owner, and Wayne Butterfield from Terrain Construction Group, recently hosted a productive meeting discussing a multi-channel approach to supporting local businesses, and the opportunities that this new development presents.

Many well-known, local faces made up the audience of their presentation, with Nick Jethwa (Partner at G Herbert Banks), Delia Yapp (from Shropshire Council), Justin Bowen (Tenbury Division and Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Children & Families at Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce) and Marion Rae and Lauren Silvey (from Tenbury Wells Open For Business), all in attendance.

Amy shared her thoughts: “The recent news from Kerry will undoubtedly have a significant knock-on effect on both local employment and the surrounding businesses. Upper Teme Business Park is fully committed to supporting the growth of Tenbury Wells, Shropshire and the surrounding Counties. Indeed, our aim is to help local entrepreneurs and businesses thrive by providing high-quality commercial spaces to rent, and we are all ears when it comes to supporting their needs.”

The first seven lettings have been secured during the Phase 1 build stage which is now complete, and tenants have already moved in.

Partner at G Herbert Banks, Nick Jethwa, made comment: “We are delighted to see the first lease completions at Upper Teme Business Park. With tenants such as an international leisure sector company operating across Europe, an electrician specialising in solar energy, a fuel tank specialist and builder, the development is already attracting a wide variety of businesses that are contributing to the area’s economic vitality.”

The business park has been strategically located just off the A456, and provides flexible commercial units that cater to a diverse range of businesses – from 750 to 6,250 square feet availability. It is a gated accommodation with high-specification accommodation, making it a prime location for both small and medium businesses to establish a secure presence of Tenbury Well.
